About the Quality of Life Foundation The Quality of Life Foundation (formerly known as the Indiana Community Cancer Care Foundation) was established in 1994 by William M. Dugan, Jr., MD, and Sara Edgerton, MA, who recognized the need for research, education, and programmatic efforts geared toward improving the quality of life of those living with cancer and other chronic diseases. The Quality of Life Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life of those living with chronic disease through research, education, and support. This foundation gives preference to projects related to cancer and populations in rural and under-served Indiana communities. To achieve their mission the Quality of Life Foundation:
