The Community Cancer Care Quality-of-Life Care Team
Dr. Theobald is a board certified psychiatrist with a certificate of added qualifications in addictions. He earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Illinois. He is the Director of the Quality of Life Program for Community Cancer Care in Indianapolis, IN. He provides quality-of-life care and treatment for cancer patients and actively develops and oversees symptom control research protocols for Community Cancer Care's hospital partners. Dr. Theobald has been an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis since 1987, and his research efforts have been published in several medical and health care-related publications. Dr. Theobald was a key participant in a Community Cancer Care landmark study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology in 1999 relative to depressive symptoms in cancer patients. He was recently appointed as Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Theobald also previously co-owned and operated a private practice in psychiatry for twelve years.
Dr. Iseminger has been an active health care provider since 1987 and is also a tenured Associate Professor of Nursing with the University of Indianapolis. She is a nurse practitioner and the only certified philosophical counselor in the state of Indiana. Her focus is treating cancer patients who experience symptoms related to cancer and its treatment as well as helping them with quality-of-life issues. She also participates in quality-of-life research activities related to the Community Cancer Care program. Dr. Iseminger is actively involved in the formation of and ongoing research activities of the Gynecologic Oncology Group.
Becky Sanders is the Nurse Care Manager for Community Cancer Care's Quality-of-Life research programs. She works closely with Dr. Dale Theobald and the group's oncologists, acting as a liaison between patients and physicians. Becky provides telecare management to patients in the research program and assists in caring for their symptoms of pain and depression. Becky graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing with high distinction. She previously worked as an oncology nurse in the Seymour, Indiana oncology clinic, where she was voted 2001 Nurse of the Year in the community. Her other nursing experience includes the specialties of pediatrics and obstetrics.
Pam Dickerson works with Community Cancer Care's Quality-of-Life Program as an administrative assistant as well as an administrator for their Home Based Symptom Monitoring program. She has been working in the field of oncology for more than 20 years in multiple capacities including practice management, quality-of-life programming, billing and collections. She also has expertise in staff training and electronic medical records support. Pam has served as a volunteer of a parent support program whose newborns were critically ill in neonatal intensive care units as well as with the Marion County Crisis and Suicide Line. |
